A captivating delicatessen bursting with the fresh flavours of the Baltic Sea, Gastronome will be opening its doors in early spring and is yet another fantastic foodie destination for the centre.

In naming the store, it’s no coincidence that owner Nadiia chose Gastronome, which is a fun play on the French word gastronomie meaning ‘a connoisseur of good food; gourmet; epicure’.

The latest addition to the global flavours of Capalaba Central, Gastronome specialises in Eastern European foods such as fine cheeses, homemade pickles and preserves and decadent cakes and chocolates. It’s also one of the only delicatessens in Brisbane where you’ll find authentic Euro-bites!

Nadiia’s 10-layered Russian Honey Cake is a particular fan-favourite, with customers describing it as “incredibly tasty and rich in flavour” and making comments such as “I literally can’t get it out of my mind... and it’s been a few months now!”.
